Seniors Art & Storytelling Project

Participants

Albert Bowron - Poetry and collage. An award winning librarian who has worked across Canada, and daily expresses himself through poems.

Angela Harrison - Photography. Angela was a photographer and travelled, photographing all over the world from Europe to Egyptian tombs. 
Ann Bahen - Commercial illustration. One of the first prominent Canadian female illustrators, Ann is so grateful for the opportunities she had to travel and work.

Clara Will - Story. Awarded the Order of Canada 2008 for her dedication and work in charities. 

Doris Macdonald - Painting. Doris has been artistic her whole life, and enjoys painting city street scenes from her window and portraits.
Edith Mckay - Storytelling and Poetry. A retired librarian and still-avid reader, Edith reads aloud one of her favourite Canadian fairytales. Also an auto-biographical poem.

Eleanor Burke - Storytelling. At 92 years of age she is working at University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies, and a Founding Member of the Academy of Lifelong Learning.

George Szeker - Drawing. George took up drawing a few years ago and creates detailed pencil drawings.  
Irina Nescau - Singing, painting and short story. Immigrated from Romania to Canada, Irina sings a traditional Romanian song as well as shares a creative story that connects her  to her grandson.

J. Richard "Dick" Davidson - Painting. Unique and infamous pop-art style paintings of food make everyone smile.

Lynette Emanuel - Art exercise. Lynette shares a recreation exercise with hand prints and writing that reflecting on all the accomplishments she credits to her hands.

Joyce Fernside - Drawing series. A wife and mother who has finally found the time to pursue her true passion, she works hard to perfect her skills at drawing a series of elephants. 

Margaret Fitzwilliam - Painting. Margaret has been painting seriously since she was 65, she is continuously improving her skills at painting favourite landscapes and scenery, and her beloved cat Snoopy.
Mary Thompson - Painting. Immigrated from Australia, Mary shares her vintage photographs and paintings of Australian landscapes in her memories. 

Patricia Edlund - Painting. Patricia loves painting scenes that remind her of memories from her life.

Sydney Bacon - Storytelling. Has recorded over 10 CDs re-telling stories from his life and travels with his natural storytelling voice. 

Ray Cattel - Abstract watercolour painting. Ray's work is displayed in many galleries across Canada.
Thelma (Trixie) Westmaas - Painting. Immigrated from Guyana to Canada, Trixie's work shows her memories of the tropical land. 

Winifred (Winn) Karry - Painting. Winn paints beautiful expressive landscapes and flora.
